About The Admiral's Cup Challenge

La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland – Adding to its growing collection of complication-timepieces, CORUM introduces a “split-second” chronograph. The Admiral’s Cup Challenge 44 Regatta is a Limited Edition of 600 pieces in 18kt red gold and vulcanized rubber.

CORUM uses one of the best chronograph movements available that is integrated on a La Joux Perret base. The split-second pusher is located at the 8:30 mark with the chronograph levers placed on either side of the crown. This lever-design is seamlessly incorporated into the signature 12-sided case.

The split-second chronograph is also known in the watch industry by its French name, rattrapante. Such a watch has two second hands, one of which can be stopped to indicate an intermediate time while the other continues to run. When released, the split-second hand jumps ahead to the position of the other hand. This intricate complication is one of the most difficult to make, on par with the tourbillon and minute-repeater. It is particularly useful in the timing sporting events.
