4.1 Watch Winder F.A.Q.

1. Are the Wolf 4.0 & Topper 4.0 still available?

Due to the enhancements that they have made in the 4.1, Wolf Designs has retired the 4.0 winder.

2. Will my existing 4.0 fit with the new 4.1 models?

Yes. The new 4.1 models are slightly deeper than the 4.0 models in order to better accommodate larger watches, but they are designed with the same interlocking system.

3. Will the 4.1 have a battery and what kind of battery life can I expect from the new lithium battery?

In order to better accommodate larger watches, the 4.1 units do not have an internal battery. Each unit comes with an adapter and a splitter and is powered by A/C Adapter. One can use one A/C adapter for up to 12 units. Alternatively, one can also power up to 12 units with an external lithium battery that is sold separately. Assuming you are powering the winder at 600 Turns Per day, the 50 Wh external lithium battery can drive one 4. 1 winder for about 333 days, 6 55 days or 12 for about 27 days. Higher turns per day will result in shorter battery life while lower turns per day will result in longer battery life.

4. Which one should I choose?

The Topper Winder is slightly less expensive, but choose the one you like the best!

5. What is the difference between the Topper 1940 4.1 and the Wolf 4.1

Just like the 4.0 winders, the difference is only cosmetic. This year the wolf 4.1 has departed from the carbon fiber front and has a high polish metal front. The Topper 4.1 retains the same satin finish steel front as it's previous version. In order to accommodate larger watches, both 4.1 units have a smaller face plate that is only at the bottom of the unit. The new unit locks into place.

6. What functionality is gained by the 4.1 models?

Unlike the 4.0 units which turned at either 300, 600, or 900 turns per day, the 4.1 units allow for 50 turns per day micro adjustments and provides a visual count down display. If the watch is not successfully turning at 600 turns per day, the user can choose to turn it at 650 or 700 turns per day. The start delay is also more customizable allowing for incremental adjustment so you can wind down your watches more precisely before the winding sequence is initiated.

7. I see some pictures of the winder with feet yet you have no price by them. How much are they and how many winders do I need to get them?

The feet are available are included upon request with the purchase of at least 2 modules.

8. How can/should I stack these winders?

You can create any configuration you wish, as long as the winders are upright.
