Ernst Benz 2014 Limited Edition campaign: Land, Air & Sea.

2014 is shaping up to be a big year for Ernst Benz as all of their Basel releases have come to market. There are three new models: the Chronoracer, Chronocombat, and the Nautical Star. The first two come in 47mm Chronoscopes and Chronosports, while the latter is a variation of the Chronosport. Together the three watches compose their Land, Air & Sea Campaign.

Chronoracer

The Chronoracer is the watch themed from the "Land", or more specifically, the colorful vintage race cars of the 1960s and 1970s. The dial is a light blue, which Ernst Benz is calling "Racing Blue". The markers and hands are orange on the steel models and black on the DLC models. The shade of orange on the steel models is a darker and more muted than the photographs presented in the Ernst Benz's press release. I liked it a lot more once I saw it in person as the photos do not truly represent the look of the actual piece. The bright use of color reminds me of signature driving watches such as the GULF edition TAG Heuer Monaco and the orange Oris Chronoris. Still, the watch is immediately identifiable as an Ernst Benz because of it's signature hands, case shape, and markings. The steel models are a more vibrant, while the DLC models are more understated.

The Chronoracer Chronoscope features significantly lighter and more saturated color orange than in Ernst Benz's press release.

ChronoCombat

The ChronoCombat represents the "Air" in this year's Ernst Benz campaign. In their press release, Ernst Benz describes the series as a "bold militarized version of the signature Ernst Benz design." The military effect is achieved by combining their military grade DLC case with an olive dial. Chronocombat consists of two variations in the Chronoscope, and one Chronosport model.

Nautical Star

The Nautical Star represents the "Sea" and is the third limited edition Ernst Benz of 2014. Available in a blue and a red version, each dial has a large nautical star in the dial background that matches the hands and markers.
